Terms of Use

These terms include upload, file-handling, and privacy information for the FaceBlur website. FaceBlur does not require an account or ask for a name, an address, or payment information to use its tools. Last updated September 25, 2026.

Using FaceBlur

You may use FaceBlur only with videos and images you have the right and permission to process. Do not use the service to break the law, violate another person's rights, distribute harmful material, or interfere with the service.

Uploads and file handling

In all website tools, including video face blur, batch video blur, image face blur, video region blur, batch image blur, and photo metadata removal, your original is uploaded and retained in private storage when you choose or drop a supported video or image. Face detection, preview, and export run in your browser. The finished export downloads from your device.

By uploading a file, you authorize FaceBlur to receive, store, and handle it as needed to operate and maintain the service. Do not upload a file if you are not permitted to store it with an online service.

Photo metadata removal

The photo metadata remover uploads and retains the unmodified original, including its embedded metadata. Metadata is removed from the newly generated download only. Inspection displays metadata categories, not private tag values. Finished exports are created and downloaded in your browser.

Privacy and website requests

When a browser or crawler requests this site, hosting and security infrastructure can process standard request data such as the requested path, time, IP-derived information, user-agent string, response status, and security signals. FaceBlur records aggregate crawler-family and page-category events for recognized search and AI crawlers. These events help confirm that public documentation is reachable.

Original uploads and stored metadata

After a single-video or batch-video face blur export, the exported video and its settings are automatically uploaded for private quality review. Saved results are retained with their original in private service storage and may include audio unless you removed it. Uploading is not an automatic quality check or a guarantee that all faces are hidden.

When you choose a supported file in a website tool, the original is uploaded and retained in private storage used to operate and review the service. The upload can include the original filename, file type, size, upload time, country code supplied by the hosting network, and a shortened browser user-agent string. Uploads are limited by file type, file signature, size, request rate, and a daily service capacity. Do not choose a video or image unless you have permission to store it with an online service.

Upload diagnostics

We record upload attempts and outcomes, timestamps, file type and size, source tool, and anonymous session attribution to diagnose failed transfers. Diagnostic records omit filenames and file contents. Browser connection-failure reports are best effort and may not reach the service.

Upload attribution

Uploads can include the source tool, a random anonymous tab-session identifier, the landing page, the referring site hostname, and bounded campaign labels from UTM parameters. The session expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. These browser-reported fields help group uploads and understand traffic; they do not verify a person’s identity.

Processing and export

Face detection, temporal tracking, mask preview, effect rendering, optional audio removal, encoding, and assembly of the finished export run on your device in the browser. The exported result is created as a browser object and downloaded from your device; FaceBlur does not receive that finished export through the normal workflow. Browser support and available memory affect which codecs can be used and whether an export completes. Image exports are newly rendered PNG files at the original image dimensions and do not copy the original file’s EXIF metadata.

No account or advertising profile

FaceBlur does not require registration, provide user profiles, or use a payment flow. The current application does not embed third-party advertising or social widgets. Public pages may be indexed and used in search, AI answers, and model training as declared in the site's crawler policy and response headers.

Your choices and limits

You can leave the site without creating an account. You can avoid uploading by not choosing a file in a website tool. The Chrome extension processes videos locally. Closing or refreshing the page clears the current in-browser editing session and any generated download link, but that action does not itself remove an original already copied to private service storage. FaceBlur does not currently publish a self-service deletion interface. Use the Contact page for the support routes currently available.

Chrome extension privacy

The FaceBlur Chrome extension processes videos locally and does not upload originals to the website. Its separate extension privacy policy describes offline processing, temporary data, and downloads.

Your output

You are responsible for checking the exported file and deciding whether it is suitable to share. Face detection can miss small, turned, hidden, reflected, or fast-moving faces. Covering faces does not remove every other identifying detail.

Service availability

FaceBlur is provided as available, without a promise that it will always work, support every codec, or produce a particular result. Features, limits, and these terms may change as the service changes.

No compliance claim

FaceBlur does not certify anonymity or compliance with a law, regulation, contract, or organizational policy. Use a professional editor and appropriate review process when a missed frame could cause harm.
