How to Blur Children's Faces in a Video

Before you post a video of children, you can cover their faces. FaceBlur applies one cover to every face it finds, so you can protect bystanders as well.

When this helps

Steps

  1. Choose the video in FaceBlur.
  2. Check that each child has a mask, including children at the edge of the frame.
  3. Use solid cover or a strong mosaic, and raise the margin so hair and chins are covered.
  4. Remove the audio if names are spoken.
  5. Export, then watch the full video before sharing.

What a face cover does not hide

One missed frame can matter. Faces that are small, turned away, or fast-moving can be missed. If a child must not be identified, review every frame or use a full video editor. Check the rules that apply to your school or event.
