How to blur faces in a video automatically

Three-step workflow

Choose a video. Upload an MP4, MOV, or WebM file up to 90 MB.
Review and adjust. Scrub the whole timeline, choose mosaic, soft blur, or solid cover, and expand the safety margin where movement is fast.
Export and inspect. Download the MP4 or WebM result, then watch it from beginning to end before publishing.

What to review

Check the first and last frames, scene cuts, people entering or leaving, profile views, partial obstructions, reflections, distant faces, and rapid motion. Increase the safety margin when the mask sits too close to the forehead, chin, or sides of the face.

Automatic detection can miss. Small, turned, obscured, or fast-moving faces may be uncovered. Use mosaic or solid for sensitive footage and review every frame range.

Formats and processing

Detection and encoding run in the browser. Originals are also uploaded to private storage. MP4 output requires browser AVC encoding support; otherwise a WebM export may be used. Audio stays unless you select removal.
