Pixelate faces in a video with mosaic

Mosaic replaces facial detail with enlarged color blocks. FaceBlur tracks each detected face and applies the selected block size and safety margin throughout the clip.

Mosaic versus blur versus solid

MosaicStrength changes block sizeRecommended default for redaction
Soft blurStrength changes blur radiusLess intrusive visual treatment
SolidNo strength settingMaximum facial concealment

Adjust mosaic safely

Raise strength until eyes, nose, mouth, and distinctive facial detail are not readable at normal playback and when paused. Increase the safety margin to cover the forehead, chin, ears, and movement between detections. Settings apply equally to every detected face.

Where pixelation can fail

Pixelation is not a guarantee of anonymity. For sensitive footage, consider solid cover, remove audio, and inspect the exported file carefully.

Apply mosaic automatically

Choose a clip, preview every detected mask, and export without a watermark.
